Dr Anthony Lam

Dr Anthony Lam is an internationally recognised Specialist Orthodontist. He is a former clinical teacher in Orthodontics at Guy’s Hospital, London, and a member of a number of local and international Orthodontic Societies.

He qualified as a dentist at the University of Melbourne and then gained an MSc in Orthodontics at the University of London. He was awarded the Professor Philip Walther Prize for outstanding performance as part of his MSc and obtained membership of The Royal College of Surgeons upon qualification. Since then, he has worked in private orthodontic practices in the South East region.

His main areas of interest are invisible cosmetic orthodontic braces including the Incognito Lingual appliances, Invisalign, Ceramic and Damon System appliances.

He is a Diamond Apex Invisalign Provider and was invited to treat the winner of the UK wide competition “Invisalign Changed my Life”. With his knowledge and experience, we are able to truly tailor your treatment, quickly and discreetly.

Dr Mandana Amin

Mandana is an enthusiastic professional in the field of Orthodontics whose journey has taken her from the vibrant educational landscapes of India and the UAE to the prestigious Barts and London Hospital at Queen Mary University.

Mandana’s academic prowess is reflected in her undergraduate studies, where she honed her skills and knowledge in two diverse countries, setting the stage for her illustrious career.

Specialising in Orthodontics, Mandana Amin pursued her postgraduate studies at the renowned Barts and London Hospital, Queen Mary University, solidifying her expertise in the intricacies of orthodontic care. Her commitment to excellence extends beyond the classroom, as she is deeply passionate about advancing the field and ensuring optimal patient care.

Beyond the world of orthodontics, Mandana finds inspiration and joy in a diverse array of hobbies. Whether she’s expressing herself through the strokes of a paintbrush, immersing herself in the world of music, or engaging in a spirited game of tennis, Mandana embodies a zest for life. Dr Zeyneb Al-Shebib

Orthodontist

Dr Zeyneb Al-Shebib completed her degree in Dental Surgery from Spain and completed her Masters in Orthodontics from Warwick University. She always had a special passion for Orthodontics and enjoys every aspect of it. She practices exclusive Orthodontics.

Dr Al-Shebib believes that a beautifully charming smile will lighten up any room. She provides excellence in orthodontics to every patient in a fantastic and professional way. She actively takes part in continuing professional development and training to deliver the best standards in Orthodontics. She is an active member of the iTero Advisory Board delivering the latest technologies to all her patients.

Dr Al-Shebib provides all different types of orthodontic treatment, for both children, teens and adults. This includes fixed braces and Invisalign, having more than 10 years experience. She tailors each treatment plan individual to every patient ensuring it is a happy and successful journey for her patients to reach their smile goals.

Out of work she loves spending time with her teen daughter, travelling and swimming (in exotic beaches where possible!).

Dr Arun Madahar

Dr. Madahar joined us in January of 2016, having completed his specialist orthodontic training in 2015. He initially graduated as a dentist from the University of Sheffield in 1992, and having spent several years in general dental practice, he chose to embark on a career in orthodontics from 2009. Dr. Madahar has a passion for orthodontics enjoying giving his patient their smile and self-esteem. He also enjoys time with his young family.

Katie Homewood

Meet Kate, a dedicated member of the Aligndent team since 2005. What started as a receptionist role quickly unfolded into a lifelong passion for orthodontics. Kate pursued and obtained her nursing and orthodontic nursing qualifications in 2007 and 2008, respectively. Taking her expertise to new heights, she earned her esteemed Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy from the acclaimed University of Warwick in 2009.

With an impressive 14 years of experience as a therapist, Kate’s focus has been primarily on working with children. Her warm and compassionate nature effortlessly puts her young patients at ease, creating a comfortable and trusting environment. Kate takes immense pride in her work, finding joy in the transformational power of giving people their smiles back.

Kate’s unwavering dedication, combined with her genuine care and artistic flair, make her an invaluable member of the Aligndent team, committed to bringing smiles and confidence to countless individuals.

Silvia Porras

Orthodontic Therapist

Silvia re-joined Aligndent in 2019. It was after she had braces herself that she decided to work in Orthodontics and help give others the same happiness.

Silvia gained her Diploma in Orthodontic Therapy at the University of Warwick in 2012, she also gained the qualification of Orthodontic Nursing in Warwick winning the Orthodontic Nursing Award.

Silvia has enjoyed the opportunity to be able to help people to have a better smile and regain their self-confidence.

Carley Phillips

Orthodontic Therapist

I have worked in dentistry for over 10yrs, gaining my orthodontic therapy qualification at King college London.

My job gives me immense joy, when patients begin treatment they barely want to smile due to lack of confidence in their teeth, then seeing their massive grins at the end of treatment makes it so satisfying.

I have continued my education training in radiography, fluoride application and Invisalign giving patients the option for a more discreet treatment.

Sunita Gurung

Dental Nurse

Sunita qualified as a dental nurse in 2013, she has experience working in NHS & private practices and with oral surgeons.

Sunita has a passion for orthodontics and joined our team in 2021. She recently completed the Peer Assessment Rating (PAR) course and hopes to undertaken further course in the future to develop her knowledge.

Sarita Gurung

Dental Nurse

Sarita joined us in December 2020. Sarita did her Foundation Degree in dental nursing (FdSc) and qualified as a dental nurse from university of Northampton in 2017. While she has worked with us Sarita has gained a qualification in indices training and hopes to further her education within the dentistry field.

Sarita enjoys helping patients with their orthodontic journey and loves to see their confidence increase as their treatment progresses.

Sally Beresford

Dental Nurse

Sally has been a registered dental nurse for over 14 years. Most of Sally’s dental career has been in general dentistry as head nurse, and the practice treatment co-ordinator.
She joined Aligndent Ashford in 2017 to further her knowledge in orthodontics, and have since qualified in radiography and very recently became PAR calibrated.

Her main passion is holidays!
Sally loves to spend time with family and the newest addition her granddaughter. Any other spare time is spent at the gym where I enjoy a workout & socialising

Natasha Atkins

Dental Nurse

Natasha started working in dentistry in 2018 in a multidisciplinary practice gaining experience in restorative work as well as orthodontics. This is where she found her passion for orthodontics.

Since gaining her dental nursing diploma in 2020 Natasha is furthering her career studying for the Dental radiography qualification which will enable her to take patients radiographs needed for treatment.

Lapati Sherpa Lama

Dental Nurse

Lapati Sherpa Lama qualified as a dental nurse in 2016. Currently, Lapati works as a Periodontal and implantology dental nurse and an orthodontic nurse. Lapati joined Aligndent Limited in 2016 and has since completed the PAR (Peer Assessment Rating) and Dental Radiography courses and is currently, studying orthodontic dental nursing. Her aim for the future is to become an orthodontic therapist.

Lapati enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

Hollie Young

Trainee Dental Nurse

Hollie joined the team in January 2021 as a decontamination technician. Over the past two years she has taken a keen interest in dentistry and is currently training to become a dental nurse.

Hollie says she is looking forward to experiencing the different aspects of working alongside the Orthodontists and therapists and finding out how rewarding dental nursing can be.

Emma Medler

Emma gaining her Dental Nursing qualification in 1992 and Radiography exam in 1994.
Since joining the Orthodontic Practice in 2008, Emma has furthered her qualifications with impression taking, clinical photography, and passing her Orthodontic Nursing exams.
Emma has recently taken on more of the reception/admin duties which she loves, alongside dental nursing.
Emma enjoys socialising, listening to music, dancing and reading.

Bhawana Gurung

Dental Nurse

Bhawana has been working as a dental nurse since 2016. She obtained her dental nursing diploma from London Waterloo Academy, also has Radiography qualification and recently became PAR calibrated. She joined our practice in November 2021 doing the job she enjoys.

In her spare time, she enjoys going to the movies and getting out into nature for long walks.

Ann Collis

Clinical Manager

Ann has worked in dentistry for over 20 yrs gaining her NEBDN qualification

She has worked alongside many different clinicians and nurses over the years and enjoys the variety and knowledge that this brings.

In her role as Clinical Manager she utilizes the care and Quality management tools to ensure all the team are up to date with Safeguarding , First aid and Cross Infection training.

In her spare time Ann enjoys catching up with family and friends, long walks in the Kent countryside and eating out.

Sam Wright

Treatment Coordinator/Orthodontic Nurse

Sam has over 20 years’ experience in dentistry, 18 years of that being in Orthodontics. Sam joined to practice in 2003 and gained her Dental nurse qualification with the National Certificate NEBDN in 2007. Sam then went on to further her career by gaining a certificate in Dental Radiography with Tempdent (London) and also undertaking the Specialist Orthodontic Nursing course at kings’ college hospital.

With her experience and knowledge this has now led Sam to becoming are Treatment Coordinator, which she really enjoys. Sam likes to help patients through there Orthodontic journey here at the Orthodontic Practice and wants to make everyone’s experience their own and as smooth as possible.

In her spare time, she like to socialise with her friends and family, enjoys travelling and a day at the races.

Karyn Brooks

Karyn started her career in dentistry as a receptionist in 2008, then finding an interest in orthodontics she qualified as a Dental Nurse in 2011 with the aim to be an Orthodontic therapist, her career path changed to Practice management in 2013.

Karyn has been practice manager at Aligndent Grove House since 2013 and is now overseeing both Aligndent Ashford & Grove House.

Emma Hazelwood

Receptionist

Emma started as a receptionist in a general dental practice before joining the team 4 years ago.

Emma enjoys welcoming patients & parents to the practice and reassuring them as they go through their orthodontic journey.

Outside of work Emma has a passion for the theatre and spending time with family & friends

Claire Williams

Administration Manager

Claire joined The Orthodontic Practice in 1992 and began her career in dentistry.

She registered as a dental nurse in 2007 and furthered her qualifications with impression taking in 2014.

Claire has worked her way up to Administration Manager and enjoys motivating the team and encouraging others to work hard and succeed.

Outside of work Claire has a passion for travelling and spending time with her family.

Pete Mann

GDC: 240916

Qualified with foundation degree in dental technology from De Montfort in 2012.  Pete worked in a laboratory that specialised in prosthetics and crown and bridge for 10 years until moving to Ashford to do orthodontics. He has worked here now for 6 years and currently makes all custom designed orthodontic appliances in the on-site laboratory including retainers, sports mouthguards, removable and fixed appliances for our patients.

Amy Carter

Amy joined the reception team in 2022 and has over seven years of experience within dentistry. She enjoys welcoming patients into the practice and likes to help make the patient journey as enjoyable as possible.

Amy is undertaking the Extended Diploma in Dental Technology and will be spending time in our laboratory under the supervision of our experienced Technician’s.

In her spare time she enjoys reading, travelling and spending time with friends and family.
